Cheap Pre-Conference Sessions in St. Charles
Hi all, I thought I would pass along some information about the upcoming National Association of Government Webmasters (NAGW) conference. It is being held in September at Pheasant Run Resort and Spa.
This year we've decided to let people register for pre-conference sessions without registering for the rest of the conference. The pre-conference sessions are $75 each and run for a half day. They cover a wide range of topics and I thought a few of them might interest some of you. Below is a list of the session titles:
- Adding Accessibility to your sites with Dreamweaver
- Sharepoint - What is all the buzz about? A roadmap to Sharepoint Discovery
- Web Design Prototyping Techniques
- Everything you ever wanted to know about Joomla! - Hands On!
- ADA and Section 508: Universal Design of Web Resources using Best Practices and Web Standards
- Building ASP.NET Applications with Visual Web Developer 2008
- Advanced CSS
- PHP/MySQL
You can visit the NAGW website for more information about the conference and descriptions of the pre-conference sessions.
The PHP/MySQL session is being taught by a person from MySQL so that promises to be a good session. The Joomla! Hands On! Session also promises to be good from the slides I've seen.

Session thoughts
Bob-
Since you attended one of the pre-conference sessions, I'd be interested to know what you thought. Overall, the conference was very successful this year. I'm still recovering from it however!
You know me - Where's Drupal?
Ron,
You know me, I just have to ask, where is Drupal? Are there any sessions on it?
Still, I think I will go, looks like a good opportunity.

Drupal MIA
Unfortunately, there are no sessions on Drupal, pre-conference or regular. This year we accepted session proposals and chose most of the sessions from the overwhelming amount we received. I'll have to press for a Drupal session next year, along with a Subversion session.
