NoOil.tv Rapid Development Presented Monday November 10th

Successful night.  Not too bad for filling in a program, a bit disorganized, but I think we all learned things.  www.NoOil.tv is built and active.  It's not what it could be yet, but I've seen lots of worse sites out there!

There were lots of blog postings that were promoted to the front page in preparation for this... I've taken them off the front page now but you can see them on Member Blogs.

So here's a thought... Eric is planning on SEO101 next month (there will probably be a post shortly about that).  What does everyone think about building some content and promoting traffic for nooil.tv in the meantime? Could that be folded into the presentation?  Rapid Development followed by Rapid Promotion?

Comments please!

Rapid means rapid

Within 3 hours last night we got the bulk done with nooil.tv. Take a look, create an account, have some fun.

New theme, logo, cafepress store, video uploading and converting.

Come on out next Monday and take a look.

NoOil.tv :: the beginning

Hey everybody,

We had a scheduling issue with getting the VMWare dude out for November, so last night we sat around talked about what we could cover and we came up with this. A rapid development of a Drupal application. 2 weeks, from getting the domain name to a fully functioning site all in our spare time, each handling a different area that we will cover in the November meeting.

July meeting

Hey everybody, A little on the non-structured side last night. Nobody submitted any questions so we moved on and started going over some jQuery code which lead to video uploading and conversion to Flash. You can find the step-by-step here: http://www.travistidwell.com/flashvideo We had some new members and saw some old friends, but for the most part was a quiet evening...mid-summer holiday I guess. In August Bob and Hans are intending on going over their Drupal updates for the foxvalleycp.com site. Looking forward to it, and remembering Bob's last Drupal presentation, i can only recommend that this should NOT be missed. We are looking to move to a bigger facility, the North Aurora library main meeting room. Much bigger, more comfortable and they are all setup for media presentations. Will advise within the next couple weeks. Stay tuned and stay sharp! Eric
